Пробовал после обновления драйвера видеокарты установить фпс лимит для гта и меня встретила такая ошибка. Видел подобную проблему тут (решение не помогло.)
Переустанавливал все драйвера и geforce experience. Так же ставил новые версии nvidia inspector с гитхаба.

I’ve never seen this issue before, until just now, with a clean install of win10 and the latest geforce driver

Anyone familiar with this or DRS or whatnot?

delete the folder, open nvcpl and click restore defaults on the profiles list.

Having issues trying to gain control, I had problems with ownership before I formatted/reinstalled windows, but I had fixed it somehow, forcing ownership of my whole drive, I’d have to look in my history to see what I did. I tried going to the Security tab of the WindowsApps folder and changing ownership from TrustedInstaller to me, and ran into the same thing I remember running into last time, a lot of things «failed» to enumerate
If you’re already fudging around with permission issues, I’d do clean install. Also, if you do not want the DCH driver which uses the Windows Store to download the the NVCPL, use the Standard driver which you can download here. https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us It contains the NVCP.
I just did a clean install lol that’s what I don’t understand. and it can download from the window store it’s fine, I’ve just never had an issue where I couldn’t change settings in Profile Inspector, or restore default settings in the nvcpl
Would any of this have anything to do with CSM or UEFI or SecureBoot or having disabled SecureBoot by deleting all the keys, then reloading them later? If so….

What modifications did you make from a default install?
Can you list the security tab for the drs folder properties?

I’ve never known it to be anything other than Everyone.
Once I was able to get the setup image to boot from my phone, nothing, just regular windows 10 64bit Pro. I wasn’t able to activate it during install because of no internet, don’t think that would have anything to do with it tho, it’s activated now..I would if it was there lol, it hasn’t been replaced since I deleted it when you mentioned earlier to

If you did not format your drive prior, there’s pretty much only one way to end up with the same permission issues on a new OS install you had on the old one: you did an in place install over an existing installation.
The same permission issues but not involving the nvcpl, and that issue was taken care of a while back. And if I did an install over an existing one, i wouldn’t have a need to boot the win install from my phone ;p I did it on a seperate drive from where the other windows was, then I formatted that drive after the new windows was installed. Then because it was still showing up when I boot, I went into bcdedit and deleted the identifier for the windows that wasn’t there anymore
I just tried a ‘takeown /f c: /r /d y’ after rebooting to command prompt, rebooted windows, and tried restoring nvcpl to default settings, still access denied.
hmm, the drs folder is definitely the location the dch cpl uses for game and most global settings.
Ok so not sure why I, and in my defense yall didn’t mention it either, didn’t think of just uninstalling the control panel and reinstalling it from the store lol…that fixed whatever permission issue was going on. Unfortunately I didn’t do that until I did a system restore which took me back 2 days ago to see if that did anything, it didn’t. But now I’m getting little errors here and there with video drivers, directx, some things not working right, so I’m just going to wipe and reinstall here in a bit. I do have 1 question that I’ve posted in a couple places, just waiting on an answer so I can start formatting/installing..i’ll just copy/paste it:

I’m creating a partition so I can have the windows 10 install on-demand when I need it, not sure why I didn’t think of this before. The question of the allocation unit size popped up in my head when I was getting ready to create the partition. Since the number and size of files on it will always the same, if I take the size on disk (4,285,284,352‬ bytes), divide that by the number of files (944), would that be the optimal allocation unit size? (4,539,496 bytes, but the max option is 2M)

This probably has been solved by now, but I decided to create an account because I was having this same problem and couldn’t find a solution anywhere on the internet.
For me, I was getting this exact message with my FPS when I tried changing it. Turns out I had to get an updated version of Nivida Profile Inspector.

Ah, I see, I used to use V2 Limiter as well, but NCP now has a frame by frame limiter. Plus, as I said, you are not using the latest version of NPI. Try version 2.30.13, which I posted a link to above.

A detailed guide on NPI was written, and it says the only reason it’s V2 Limiter doesn’t use whole numbers is it didn’t work too well with whole numbers. It also says the RTSS limiter actually works better, so if for some reason I cannot imagine NCP’s limiter does not work well for you, I would try RTSS instead. RTSS also uses less RAM than any other limiter. https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/nvidia-inspector-introduction-and-guide.403676/

I’ve used the RTSS limiter myself and it works quite well. BTW, RTSS comes with Rivatuner, and also MSI Afterburner. RTSS can be launched by itself, but you will typically get a pop up message saying some of it’s components can’t be hooked right now. Just close out that message though and it launches and works fine on it’s own. A lot of times it’s best to launch it on it’s own anyway, because a few games do not work well with Afterburner or Rivatuner.

I used to use Nvidia Profile Inspector, but since they pretty much included all the settings I was tweaking with it in the Nvidia Control Panel, I just tweak there instead. What you’re no doubt experiencing is the problem sometimes associated with lack of proper testing/maintenance on an open source tool (which NPI is) vs Nvidia’s own driver team testing /maintaining their in house coded tool. BTW, DRS from what I’ve read, means driver settings, so clearly if that’s not holding, the team writing NPI needs to make some corrections.

Thus I can only assume you’re using NPI just for OCing exclusively, vs graphics settings tweaks. BTW, you do not have the latest version, which may be the problem.

I’m using 144hz monitor so should I lock it to 143.5hz using RTSS thats what I read yesterday? I’m trying it right now and it feels really good

К сожалению, но иногда подобное времяпровождение прерывается сообщением об какой-либо ошибке. Например, при попытке запуска популярнейшего онлайн-шутера Counter-Strike Global Offensive или любой другой игры, может возникнуть на экране надпись «Failed to initialize NVAPI with error (0XFFFFFFFE)».

Естественно, геймеру хочется максимально оперативно найти решение подобной ситуации, чтобы продолжить наслаждаться любимым для себе видом отдыха.

Возможные первопричины данной неприятности

Наиболее часто встречаемая причина этой ситуации связана с отсутствием на используемом оборудовании актуальной версии драйверов для активной графической платы.

Второй, возможный вариант — возникает конфликт из-за наличия в игровой папке некоторых компонентов, которые необходимо снести.

Зайти на официальную страничку ресурса компании-разработчика ПО для подобных плат. Найти самую свежую версию, выполнить скачивание и установку инсталляционного пакета. Естественно, руководствуясь разрядностью эксплуатируемой операционки и типом используемой графической карты.
Выполнить предварительную установку специального ПО, известного как «GeForce Experience». После запуска этого инструмента, программка начнет в автоматическом режиме искать требуемые файлы и предложит их дальнейшую инсталляцию.
Перейти в диспетчер устройств системы. Найти используемую графическую плату. Кликнуть по ней правой кнопкой мышки, тем самым, вызывая дополнительное меню. Перейти в свойства, где можно воспользоваться функций обновления драйверов.

При отсутствии положительного результата при применении первого способа, рекомендуется не отчаиваться, а сразу же приступить ко второму:

Перейти по пути: steam – steamapps – common — Counter-Strike Global Offensive, убедившись, что на последней папке в ее свойствах не установлена галочка, позволяющая прятать от глаз и работы с ними скрытые файлы;
Просмотреть последнюю папочку и обнаружить в ней два файла: dxgi.dll и d3d9.fx;
Спокойно перенести их в корзину или удалить любым другим удобным для юзера способом.

Your drivers may be corrupt or out of date», при чем коды могут различаться, встречается ошибка как с кодом «0XFFFFFFFE» так и с кодом «0XFFFFFFF», в любом случае предстоит решить проблему.

Дословно в ошибке сказано что системе не удалось запустить NVIDIA API с кодом ошибки 0xfffffffe, которая необходима при работе на видеокарте NVIDIA. Ваши драйверы могут быть повреждены или устарели. Вследствие этого в программном интерфейсе приложения библиотеки NVIDIA возник конфликт при запуске SC:GO. Проще говоря разработчики оптимизируют игру, меняют исходный код в соответствии с последними разработками графических чипов и хотят что бы пользователи регулярно обновляли драйвера даже на старом железе. От себя посоветуем установить на компьютер GeForce Experience от Nvidia. Программа автоматически будет проверять наличие свежих драйверов видеокарты, загружать их и устанавливать. Первая мысль, которая должна посетить вас это зайти на официальный сайт NVIDIA и скачать последнюю версию драйверов на вашу видюху.

Загружаем последнюю версию.
Принимаем лицензионное соглашение и устанавливаем.
Перезагружаем ПК и пробуем запустить контру.

Вторым шагом будет удаление ненужных файлов, этот совет помогает в большинстве случаев исправить эту ошибку.

Открываем папку с установленной КС ГО по пути «steam/steamapps/common/Counter-Strike Global Offensive».
Либо кликаем по ярлыку и в пункте «Свойства», «Просмотреть локальные файлы».
Ищем два файла: «d3d9.fx» и «dxgi.dll» и удаляем их. Если паникуете, просто переместите на рабочий стол.
Запускаем СТИМ и заходим в КС, все должно летать.

Если вы не видите файлов попробуйте сначала отключить антивирус. Затем зайдите в «Панель управления», «Свойства папки» и на вкладке «Вид» включите отображение скрытых файлов и папок.

Если ни одна из инструкций не помогла можно попробовать полностью удалить КС из STEAM и компьютера, затем заново скачать через библиотеку игр и пробовать запускаться — есть люди, которым помогла полная переустановка. И не забываем проверить первые два пункта.

На Windows 10 и Windows 7 поможет следующая схема действий.

Правой кнопкой клик по «Компьютер», затем «Управление», заходим в «Диспетчер устройств».
Или из панели управления открываем пункт «Диспетчер устройств».
Находим пункт «Видеоадапторы» и выбираем свой.
Далее вкладка «Драйверы», «Обновить», «Автообновление».
Перезагружаем компьютер и пробуем запускать.

Проблема в nvidia profile inspector.
В первый раз когда заходил в программу поменял нужные мне настройки все нормально сохранилось, а теперь выдает ошибку при сохранении параметра который менял ранее но на другие значения

I am getting the message below when trying to update some settings.
DRS_SaveSettings failed: NVAPI_ACCESS_DENIED

Specifically when trying to modify «CUDA — Force P2 State» = «Off».
I am on Win10.
I have searched a few times and tried a few things:

DDU and reinstall NVidia drivers
Safe Mode, DDU and reinstall NVidia drivers
Looked for read only files
Logged in to local admin account

I am sure it is something about my setup but I have not been able to find it.
Any hit you can give would be appreciated.

I am comfortable examining, writing or modifying code if need be.

The issue is that when you installed your NVIDIA driver it didn’t installed correctly!

Solution:

Look for the folder named Drs located in «C:ProgramDataNVIDIA Corporation».
Delete the folder «Drs» (if its not there goto next step).
Create a new folder with name «Drs».

I am sorry to say that it did not fix the issue.

I added the directory «C:Program FilesNVIDIA CorporationDrs», which did not exist.

Things I did after, but they did not work:

I checked over the security on the new directory
I updated to the latest version of Profile Inspector
Rebooted the machine
Checked the directory security

Reinstalling the latest Driver and PhysX ONLY (no 3D drivers, no GFEX).
Download the separate GeForce Experience package and install that afterwards.

@Squall-Leonhart is right. I wouldn’t call this issue ‘closed’ though since the program could just create the folder itself it its missing and not fail with a meaningless error.

A caveat of the workaround is: the Folder ProgramData is hidden. One way to get there is to simply copy the path C:ProgramData into the address bar of the explorer window and hit enter. You don’t need to enable hidden files with that approach.

@deadmanwalking why has the issue been closed?? The bug is still present with the very latest version as I have said. The fact that one can workaround this does not mean that the problem itself got solved. For the matter of this issue the program should silently create the missing directory and not just fail with a meaningless error. Please re-open it.

no, it shouldn’t create the folder, nor should it create the drs file if it is not present.
The folder should already exist and have files in it.
if it doesn’t, run a Reset to Defaults in the NVCP.

Something in your system is messing with your drivers.

Remove all nVidia software and drivers. (Use Display Driver Uninstaller — DDU).
Reinstalling the latest Driver and PhysX ONLY (no 3D drivers, no GFEX).

Download and install the separate GeForce Experience package.
