Error initializing physx please visit

Just bought and installed DA Origins Ultimate Edition, but when I launch it is says «Error Initializing PhysX. Please visit blabla for updated drivers».
Now I’ve always up to date (also because this game is pretty old) and my Nvidia Drivers are the 335.23 on my GTX 770.

Anyone with the same issue that know how to fix the problem? I don’t want to download old drivers just to make DA works..

I think you are right that Nvidia doesn’t update Physx when updating drivers. Unfortunately I cannot confirm it myself at the moment because I do not have any Nvidia products with me.

Mmmm strange..I had the error again when I launched the game after quit it..

Re-launched the Physx installer and then the game started again..hope to do not have to install Physx everytime I need to play 🙂

This is a very old thread. If you are having problems with PhysX you were supposed go to the pinned guide How to Fix Dragon Age: Origins; everything is explained in detail there.

I just reinstalled DA:O (after finishing DA:I recently), and this same PhysX error came up for me. On doing a quick Google search, this thread (not the referenced «pinned guide») was the FIRST to come up in a Google search for the solution. I used your recommendations and it fixed the problem. I would wager that most people go through the same process as I did.

Why reprimand someone who is thanking you for fixing their problem? By the way (at the risk of being scolded) thanks for fixing mine, too.

Basically as the subject says. I cannot get Dragon Age Origins to run on this computer. I’ve downloaded the PhysX drivers, downloaded the latest (non-beta) update for my graphics card and everything. Nothing.

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5Ghz

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7790

RAM: 8GB 1333Mhz DDR3

The problem with older games is that they don’t run well with newer versions of the PhysX. However, if the game is installed from a disc, it should include compatible version of the PhysX. My suggestion would be:

1. Uninstall the game and PhysX from your computer

2. Install the game again and during installation you should be asked if you wish to install the PhysX as well. Confirm this and install PhysX from the disc

3. When updating your gpu drivers, make sure that you choose custom install and untick PhysX from the update to ensure that it won’t update the one you have.

I doubt this will work simply because it is not the disc version of the game. It is Origin. I got it when it was on the house.

I have recently downloaded and installed the latest Steam version of Dragon Age: Origins — Ultimate on my PC.

I can’t find anything that tells me what version this is or whether it includes the latest patches but I assume Steam does this automatically.

PC info:
Toshiba Notebook/Satellite
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz
8 GB RAM

AMD Radeon HD 7670M
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Basic

64 bit operating system
DirectX 11

After opening the main DA menu I press play and get the following message — ‘Error initializing PhysX. Please visit nvidia.com/physx for updated drivers’ and the game will not open after this.

I have tried the latest driver 9.13.1220 but I still get the same message, I even tried drivers from 2009 and 2012. I have uninstalled and reinstalled them many times now but nothing. I have read through many similar queries and the only answer I see is install the new driver which I have done. However, I see that this has only helped some people.

I have Mass effect 2 installed which seems to have a similar setup using physx and it works fine, infact it doesnt matter what version of physx I have installed, they all seem to work for ME2. So I get the feeling its something to do with the DA config that I’ve downloaded.

So i got the game Dragon Age Origns, but when i try to load it it gives me the error Error Initializing PhysX, and tells me to go to nvidia.com/physx for updated drivers. I have the newest driver off their site (excluding beta drivers) and downloaded the newest update for the PhysX. I updated everything and restarted, and no go still.

my graphics card is a EVGA geforce 9800GT.

Any suggestions? Should i get the beta driver?

EDIT — removed the overclock from my graphics card, but still the same error

EDIT 2- tried the new beta driver. still no go. Anyone come across something similar to this in other games?

so i just discoverd that the game makes a log file. here is what it has to say:

I suggest going to Nvidia’s forums and do a search for your issue. I wouldn’t be suprised in the least that others are having the same issue.

Also, when you upgraded your video card drivers did you use any utility to first make sure all the old drivers were cleaned out before installing the new?

I have no such issues with dragon age. My driver version is 191.07, Physx vesion is 909.08.14.

Uninstall physx, Then Try exploring the dvd, go to software folder and there should be a physx exe in there. install that.

Ps. ( As route44 points out make sure to clean all traces of old drivers off of your pc before installing the new ones. driver sweeper is great for this.)

• Скачайте компонент PhysXLoader.dll на компьютер.
• Скопируйте файл с перезаписью в папку С:Windowssystem32 для Windows 7, 8, 10 32 bit и в папку C:WindowsSysWOW64 для 64 bit.
