Terraria uses the RijndaelManaged class for player encryption, which isn’t FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard) compliant. There’s a flag in the registry that tells Windows whether it should allow non-compliant encryption methods to be used. The registry key is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlLsa

If the value fipsalgorithmpolicy is present and set to 1, non-compliant algorithms will be blocked and will throw exceptions if you try to use them (like you got). Setting it to 0 should fix the error.

Была такое же, попробуй запустить террарию с втыкнутыми наушниками в комп, если уже втыкнуты попробуй без них

Ну сама Terraria поставляется с Microsoft XNA 4.0, поэтому можно просто попробовать скачать этот пакет с сайта Microsoft и переустановить, после чего перезагрузить компьютер. Если не помогает, можно попробовать удалить XNA 4.0 через удаление программ Windows и вместо него скачать XNA 3.1, установить, перезагрузить и попробовать. Если игра по-прежнему не работает, то это может быть из-за звуковой карты. Скажем если есть звуковуха Creative X-Fi, то нужно ее отключить в диспетчере устройств или устройствах воспроизведения, и попробовать поиграть на встроенной звуковухе. Если игра все еще не запускается, то там же в стиме проверяем ее кеш. Ну и если ничего не помогает, то как обычно переустанавливаем Windows.

I decided to make one-time easy to copy-pase or link list of solutions to 80% of the game-crashing problems for the guys and gals constantly visiting us because they are too lazy to google it. (^_^)Feel free to add anything to it or correct me if any of these is wrong.(NOTE: My PC is custom made/assembled piece of scrap that had all of its parts replaced multiple times over last 8 years so I had to deal and research a lot of these and I know they work.)HERE WE GO AND I HOPE YOU LIKE IT:

— Go to your Steam -> Terraria right click -> Properties -> Local Files -> VERIFY INTEGRITY OF LOCAL FILES. (if game is crashing while logging off or exiting the world check point 7.

— Delete the Config.json file from your Terraria Documents folder (use chain above but at the end Browse Local files).

— Also uninstall any mods first — things like Calamity, Overhaul or even Thorium can screw up your game and sometimes they are left in the game folder even after uninstalling it so check if anything has been left where you installed them and your game files (just be carefull to not delete your characters/worlds).

In the Start menu Right click Computer -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings-> [Performance] Visual effects, processor usage and virtual memory Settings -> Advanced -> Change Virtual Memory Minimuim to 10000 and Maximuim to 19999.

— Go to the Start Menu and click on Settings.- Search performance.- Choose Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.- In the new window, go to the Advanced tab and under the Virtual memory section, click on Change.-At the bottom of the new window, uncheck «let system manage paging file»- then click on Custom size.- Set the top bar or Minimuim to 10000. that looks exactly like an error message I just got.

do you have any texture packs as a zip file in your save folder?

I got this error by creating a texture pack zip file using 7-Zip and using a compression method called «Store». the CRC numbers are different though.

Troubleshooting Your Problem with TerrariaServer.exe
In order to figure out what your problem is with the game, we require that you run the Terraria Server Client (TerrariaServer.exe). This will display any errors or successes on launch. Should there be any errors from the program itself, use the command prompt and copy the error to display it here.

1. Right click within the Command Prompt.
2. In the drop-down menu, select Mark.
3. Once you made a selection, Right Click or Press Enter to copy.
4. Paste your results in your thread.

If you have trouble with the above instructions, your system might be showing «Not Responding» or your System may need to be rebooted to start clean.

Deleting the JSON files to clear Terraria Settings

Q: I am experiencing low frame rate for Terraria, but the machine passes as recommended?

InvalidOperationException when loading world sometimes #144

Since v0.9.2.1 I’ve been intermittently received the below error in Windows 10 Steam version of Terraria.

I’ve included a screenshot of my spawn area in case knowing what items are nearby helps (looks like some kind of lighting problem).

The lunar monolith was also active in the area, although I think I’ve had it crash without as well.

I haven’t determined whether it happens without mods on, but the mods i have installed don’t have any items in them (Hero’s mod and the keybinding mod I’m working on).

We need more testcases. You have to test this without any mods on, also test with/without mods on on a fresh character separately. Also if the monolith is on, try disabling it. If you can’t get in the game, I advise you make a backup of your world and use a worldeditor to remove the tile and/or disable the effect.

Yeah I’m going to do so, just haven’t had a chance yet.

It’s very hard to determine whether it doesn’t happen in any given scenario because it only happens once every N times I log on, where N is a number larger than 3. Thus it’s going to take a fair bit of time restarting the game over and over and over to actually rule anything out and even then you can’t be sure.

I had a go at reproducing this. I managed to reproduce it once, on the same world, without the monolith activate, with only hero’s mod installed. I’ve restarted the game about 100 times both with and without hero’s since and it was unable to reproduce it.

The one time I reproduced it I had just set the time to night and turned rain on, saved the game then reloaded.

Sorry I can’t provide more conclusive results. Testing intermittent faults is the worst.

@LyraelRayne it sounds like this is either a very minor bug in vanilla or something in Heros Mod that causes this issue. Since @JavidPack maintains Heros Mod, I will tag him, maybe he knows whats up.

Thanks. And yeah I agree. This has not happened on any other worlds and happens extremely rarely on the world that I discovered it on (as opposed to just before I reported it when it happened 6 times out for 20 or something like that).

Likely fixed in future vanilla.
