Bizhub C353 «License Management Error»
Hello
We have had to perform a NVRAM reset on this machine. Now when it boots up, it will display the message «License Management Error.»
Can anyone tell me how to sort this out. We have gone through the setup procedure and double checked the serial number is correct.

I’ve only seen the license errors (false) on the B&W mfps. We had a C550 that gave us this when SYS bd was replaced, but it did have a LK-XXX installed prior. You may try taking the firmware down to the earliest version, and then back up in increments applying the HDD firmware ups where applicable. Emujo

What to do if a «License Management error occurred» message is indicated after upgrading firmware or replacing the NVRAM or EEPROM board.
Description:
«License Management error occurred» message.
Solution:
Whenever this message is indicated, it is necessary to perform the Repair operation (see attached «Repair Procedure»).
Notes:
1. When replacing the NVRAM or the EEPROM board, if the parts are replaced with used parts, the License Management error condition cannot be resolved by performing the repair operation.
In this scenario, Initialization would then be necessary and support must be contacted.
Additionally, if both the NVRAM and the EEPROM board are replaced, Initialization will be necessary.
IMPORTANT: Perform the Repair Procedure first, then the Initialize procedure. If initialization is required, collect the following information before calling support:- If i-Option was ever licensed on the MFP and if the additional 512MB of memory was ever installed at any time
- The firmware level prior to the machine being upgraded to version 88 (bizhub C353 and bizhub C650 series models only)
- If the machine ever had firmware version 85 or 86
- A history of recent NVRAM or EEPROM board replacement
- Obtain a machine Management List and have it ready to attach to the ticket.
- A screenshot of the message returned from the LMS if «Repair» was unsuccessful
- A «Request Code» from the MFP and the S/N must be obtained in order to start the «Initialization» procedure (see attached «Obtain Request Code» and «Initialize»)
2. Make sure to enter the MFP Serial Number, Repair Demand Code and the Request Code in uppercase letters when entering data in License Management Server online.
3. Version 88 firmware refers to the bizhub C353 and bizhub C650 series models. Other models have the correct firmware from factory.
4. To view a PDF, you may need to download a free copy of Adobe Reader�.

wow.. old thread.. but im working on a good copier! Bizhub601… upgraded firmware (and then it asked upgraded HD) now «License Management error» cant find the repair procedure in the manual
any body know how to «repair» ?

It works with the LMS server in Japan. Halve of the time it does not work and you need to motivate why you need the codes to repair the machine. i have learned to live with the messages.
The OEM does not like you to fix an old machine with another old machine. And as of late not to fix one machine with another machine at all. Must use new boards or properly reset boards.

There is a section in the manual that describes the procedure to fix the error after NVram replacement. Use the manual for this.
And there is a section that explains the HHD problem on the B601.Did you use the CF card recovery procedure?

i have not wiped the CF card to base… and then all the way back to version 20…shd i try that? i assumed the LM error is generated from the NVRAM.
No unable to log into their LM System server… we lost KM support when they decided to dump us as we couldnt sell 5 million dollars of equipment per year!

Removal of the License management error can only be done through LMS support. That being said, there was a poster a few weeks back that said he had a «magic» serial number and repair code that would fix any license error. I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to try, but, having access to KM LMS server I just go that route. Emujo

I’ve found this on other site of copytechnet.com with same problem
:OK for clarity, if you have a problem with «License management error» in _ANY_ machine type, please follow procedure below.
1. Go to the service mode and change machine serial number to A0R6021006374 (must be uppercase)
2. Reboot the machine (turn off/on main power switch)
3. Go again to the service mode, then [STOP]->[9], then [License Management]->[Initialize]
4. Use following initialization code: 2VRA4-UGGA2-Z2H4K-7AVUH-F58SW-J2Z7U-QVKVK
5. Reboot machine again
6. One more time go to service mode and set back your original serial number
7. Last reboot, and you should have no errorANY means:

Уважаемые пользователи!
Если у вас возникли проблемы с менеджером лицензий, пожалуйста используйте следующую последовательность действий.

Внимательно прочитайте сообщение менеджера лицензий. Возможно у вас просто исчерпан лимит подключений или нет связи с сервером лицензий CSoft Development.

Если сообщение отсутствует, но есть код ошибки, поищите его среди приложенных ниже описаний. Возможно это подскажет вам путь решения проблемы.

Внимательно просмотрите лог файл менеджера лицензий, там содержится подробная информация о ходе его работы. По умолчанию лог файл находится в файле C:Program FilesCSoftCS License Serverflex.log или C:Program Files (x86)CSoftCS License Serverflex.log для x64 ОС.

Если выше перечисленные шаги не помогли разобраться вам самостоятельно, отправьте запрос с подробным описание ошибки на адрес soft@csoft.ru не забыв приложить лог файл и файл лицензий.

Errors marked with an ‘*’ indicates errors which should not appear in shipping software. These are errors intended to help the programmer incorporate FLEXlm in their product, and should be fixed before shipping.
Errors marked with ‘+’ indicate errors due to an operating system failure.
Error Description
-1 Cannot find license file
-2 Invalid license file syntax
-3 No server for this feature
-4 Licensed number of users already reached
-5 No such feature exists
-6 No port number in license file and FLEXlm service does not exist [pre-v6only]
-7 No socket connection to license manager server
-8 Invalid (inconsistent) license key.
The license-key and data for the feature do no match.
This usually happens when a license file has been altered

The hostid of this system does not match the hostid

The system administrator has reserved all the licenses for others. Reservations are made in the options file. The server must be restarted for options file changes to take effect.

Check the following:1. Check whether you are using a feature which you do not have a license for. If you get this message on the client it could indicate that the product is not on the license.2. Another common cause of this error is updating your license file without restarting your network license manager. If you administrate the license manager for your license, try restarting the license manager and then try to run MATLAB again. 3. Update the license file on the client machine to contain only the following two lines (without quotes):

«hostname» is the hostname of the license server»HostID» is the HostID of the license server»port» is the port that the license manager communicates onThe license file on the client machine varies depending upon operating system and version. Follow the below steps to solve Autodesk License manager error:
- Disable any antivirus and/or firewall.
- Navigate to to C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesAutodesk SharedAdskLicensing. If the folder does not exist, skip to step 7 below.
- Run uninstall.exe as admin (right-click > Run as administrator).
- Go to C:ProgramDataAutodeskAdskLicensingService and remove the files located in there.
- Go to the Autodesk 2020 product install folder and open x86AdskLicensing (e.g., for AutoCAD LT 2020 it would be C:AutodeskAutoCAD_LT_2020_English_win_64bit_dlmx86AdskLicensing).
- Run AdskLicensing-installer.exe as admin (right-click > run as administrator). Wait for the install to complete.
- Install the latest updates for Autodesk Licensing Service, ether from Autodesk Desktop App or from Product Updates section of the Autodesk account portal.
- Click the Start menu and type CMD.
- Right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.
- In the Command Prompt, run the below command followed by ENTER:

Closing expired trial dialog window.
Closing Flexnet license finder dialog window.
The License manager is not functioning Solution:
If this error occurs on the system that has LogMeIn installed, refer to “The License manager is not functioning or is improperly installed” on systems with LogMeIn installed. Otherwise, refer to the following solutions:
Option 1: Check whether the FlexNet Licensing Service is running for versions 2017 to 2019.
- Click Start (or right-click Start on Windows 10) and choose Run.
- In the Run box, type services.msc.
- In the Name column of the Services console window, find FlexNet Licensing 64 and check whether its status is ‘Running’.
- If the above mentioned service is running, close the Services console window and go to Solution 2.
- If the above mentioned service is not running, go to step 4.
- In the Startup Type column, right-click ‘Manual’ and select ‘Properties’. (Note: if the service cannot be started, make sure the Windows profile being used has enough permissions. Consult with an IT administrator if necessary.)
- In the Properties dialog, use the drop-down menu to change Startup Type to ‘Automatic’ and click OK.
- To change the status of the service to ‘Running’, right-click its empty Status cell and select Start from the context menu.
Note: If AutoCAD version is 2018 is being used, install the Autodesk License Service (x64) – 5.1.5 Hotfix installation.
Option 2: Make sure Autodesk software is not restricted from accessing the domains listed in the article: Which URLs/Protocols need to be white listed for Autodesk Subscription Licenses
When a proxy is used:
- Check Internet Option (in Internet Explorer) for Automatically detect settings is turned off
- or turn on Automatically detect settings and Use a proxy server … Then enter the Proxy IP-Address + Port.
- If Proxy requires authentication: Enter Proxy and Credentials in Autodesk Desktop App.
Option 3: Verify that Active X controls are enabled
- In Windows Search box type Internet Options and hit Enter.
- Select Security tab and click on Custom level… button.
- Scroll down the Security Setting list to Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins, and enable it.
- Scroll down to see Script ActiveX control marked safe for scripting*, and enable it.
- Click OK a couple of times to exit Internet Properties dialog window.
Option 4: Increase Permissions
- Increase permissions to folders used by Autodesk software by adding the user and providing full control to the registry keys and folders listed in the article. What user permissions does AutoCAD require?
- Run as administrator by right-clicking the product icon, choose Run As Administrator, and see whether the product runs as expected.
Option 5: Recreate the licensing data file
AutoCAD will not run if the licensing data file is missing or corrupted and The License manager is not functioning or Autodesk License manager error will appear.
- Browse to the folder for the installed product version:For 2017 products: C:ProgramDataAutodeskCLMLGS<Product_Key>_2017.0.0.F
For 2018 products: C:ProgramDataAutodeskCLMLGS<Product_Key>_2018.0.0.F
For 2019 products: C:ProgramDataAutodeskCLMLGS<Product_Key>_2019.0.0.F- If the folder isn’t there, How to turn on hidden files and folders on Windows.
- If the folder doesn’t exist, create it.
Note: Replace <Product Key> with the product key for the installed product. This product key can be found in the Autodesk Account.
- If an LGS.data file is in the folder, delete it.
- Use a text editor such as Notepad to create a text file named LGS.data file in the folder.
- Open LGS.data in the text editor and type one of the following based on the Autodesk software license type in capital letters on the first line of the file:
_STANDALONE (if the product license has a serial number)_NETWORK (if a Multi-User license is used)_USER (if the license is based on a specific Autodesk ID and does not have a serial number)Note: If a network license is being used, create LICPATH.lic file in the same folder.
LICPATH.lic file content is as following format. Replace ServerName with the license server name or its IP address.
SERVER ServerName 000000000000
USE_SERVER - Save LGS.data and close the text editor.Note: Verify that the text editor did not save LGS.data with a hidden “.txt” extension. How to turn on hidden files and folders on Windows to be sure that extensions are not hidden.
- Go to C:Users<userprofile>AppDataRoamingAutodesk and delete the ADUT folder if exits.
- If the Autodesk Desktop App installed, launch it and sign in with the relevant Autodesk account credentials.
- Try starting the product again.
- If re-installing the product, ensure the below file is deleted prior to re-installation : “C:ProgramDataAutodeskAdLMProductInformation.pit”
Option 6: Restore CLM component may solve Autodesk License manager error
- Navigate to C:ProgramDataAutodesk
- Rename the folder CLM to CLM.old.
- Navigate to Control Panel – All Control Panel Items – Programs and Features.
- Repair Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable versions 2012, and 2015 or 2017 whichever is installed.
- Right click on one of the above mentioned installed Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables.
- Select Change, then Repair.
- Repeat the same for all installed Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable versions 2012, and 2015 or 2017.
- Right click on Autodesk License Service (x64) X.X and click Change – the component will be reinstalled.
- Repeat for any other version of Autodesk License Service (x64) listed.
- Run AutoCAD again.
Option 7: Try other troubleshooting measures to solve The License manager is not functioning
If the previous solutions don’t solve Autodesk License manager error problem, try each of the following, one at a time. Test for success before trying the next one.
- Make the latest AutoCAD updates are installed.
- Scan the system with an antivirus software to check for adware or malware. If adware or malware is found, search the Internet for ways to uninstall it.
- Disable the antivirus software.
- Sign out from all Autodesk cloud services and applications that may be running on the system (e.g. Autodesk Desktop App, A360, Fusion 360, etc.)
Option 8: Create a deployment to reinstall the AutoCAD product.
A deployment install is a workaround when normal installation fails because of locked or deleted license information. There are several reasons for the loss of license data, including operating system updates. Unlike a regular installation, a deployment installation gathers the license information before starting the product, replacing lost or corrupted information.
Attempt this solution only if a licensing error occurs after trying Solutions 1–4.
- If a previous installation of AutoCAD product exists, uninstall it now using the Windows Uninstall control panel.
- Follow Creating a Deployment – Network Admin to create a deployment.
- Locate Setup.exe in the deployment path.
- Right-click Setup.exe and select Run As Administrator.
- Follow the instructions for installing the AutoCAD product deployment.
- Restart the computer and start the AutoCAD product.,
Option 9: Autodesk Desktop App
Make sure the Autodesk Desktop App is working correctly because if it is not, The License manager is not functioning or Autodesk License manager error will occur.
If the Autodesk Desktop App does not load:
- Click the arrow to display “show hidden icons”.
- Locate the Autodesk Desktop App icon and right click.
- Select exit.
- Open Windows task manager and make sure the follow tasks are not running.
- AutodeskDesktopApp.exe.
- AdAppMgrSvc.exe.
After completing the steps try running the Autodesk Desktop App and logging in. After successfully logging in try logging into Autodesk software.
If problems persists with the Autodesk Desktop App please refer to the article Autodesk Desktop App freezes and shows a blank white screen Autodesk License manager error.
Option 10: Clock Error Appears Before Licensing Error Shows
Follow the steps shown in Clock Error: Clock Error: Check that system clock is set to the current date and time before trying it again.
Option 11: Reactivate the license
- Be sure that files and folders are not hidden using these instructions.
- Remove all files under C:Users<username>AppDataRoamingAutodeskADUT
- Remove all files under C:ProgramDataAutodeskADUT
- Go to C:ProgramDataAutodeskCLM and delete the folder “LGS”
- Go to C:ProgramDataFLEXnet and delete all files that start with adskflex
- Go to C:Users<username>AppDataLocalAutodeskWeb Services and delete the file LoginState.xml
- Start AutoCAD again.
If the files/folders in bold above have not been created, perform the following steps:
- In the Internet Options window on the Advanced tab, under Settings, scroll down to the Security section. Make sure SSL 3.0 is enabled.
- Uninstallreinstall all C++ libraries. How to remove and reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libraries.
- Run the AutoCAD product and try to activate it.
- Uninstall the AutoCAD product and reinstall it as follows:a.
