Ошибка No physical device found в игре Path of Exile не даёт возможности играть с технологией Vulkan, а в редких случаях и вовсе запустить игру.

Одна из причин её появления — обновление драйверов видеокарты.

Убрать ошибку можно несколькими способами:

  1. Играть через DirectX, не трогая в настройках графики Vulkan.
  2. Откатить драйвера до предыдущей версии, которая использовалась ранее, когда проблем не было.
  3. Установить Vulkan SDK и отключить VK_LAYER_AMD_swichable_graphics.

Сменить отрисовщик на DirectX

Применимо, когда ошибка начала вылезать в самой игре при попытке сменить отрисовщик. Если PoE вообще не запускается, будет сложнее.

Способ подойдет не всем. К примеру, на ноутбуке Ryzen с 3060 производительность Path of Exile на DirectX существенно ниже, чем с Vulkan.

Справка. Если игра не запускается и выдаёт ошибку No physical device found, и при этом не вариант откатывать дрова или лезть в настройки Вулкана, идём в папку с игрой и удаляем файл с настройками. Ошибка исчезнет. PoE запустится. Настройки скинутся на значения по умолчанию. Файл искать в папке DocumentsMy GamesPath of Exile, называется production_Config.ini (перед удалением делаем бэкап на случай, если что-то пойдет не так).

Vulkan SDK

Способ найден в соответствующей ветке в Steam.

Что конкретно это даёт — без понятия. Используйте на свой страх и риск. Если страшно, удаляем файл с настройками из папки с игрой и играем на DirectX.

Проверено — работает. В настройках вновь можно выбрать Vulkan. Ошибка пропала и больше не вылезает.

3.13 Crash (Vulkan Device Lost Error)

Hey! I keep getting this bug where the game crash after i afk and have the game minimized.

Steps to reproduce:
Minimize game
afk 5 or 10+ minutes
tab back to game and get black poe window and crash

This is what it sais in client.txt

It only happens it seems if i minimize the game to the taskbar if i keep it in the background it’s fine.

It doesn’t seem to happen when i switch to directx11, though i don’t really want to go back to dx11 when vulcan gives me better performance whilst playing.

Other details

Tendency seems level-dependant.
Also seems to be exacerbated by multitasking the gpu, such as watching a video while playing.

That’s a different massage though, but it’s crahing all the same.

How far do you gotta play to get this error?
Can you trigger the issue every mission?

I’m sure it’s not uniform. But I can’t say if there are levels where the fault is impossible. Currently there’s a strong coralation between how many time a level crashed on me and how many times I’ve played it.

The game is made of locations, each having three smaller levels. I think there are locations that are more prone than others, and than there are specific points (rooms and/or battles) where a crash is especially likely. For example now I’m playing the Cheshire location which is very prone, and the third level have a battle where it crashed 3 or 4 times already. But the previous location, Nothingham had barely any crashes at all.

I turned down resolution scaling from 150% to 100%.

So the final fight in Cheshire caused a crash every single time, until I turned off both the resolution scale and the 60fps patch, which has let the fight conclude on the first try. Turning only the resolution scale down (and replaying Cheshire) doesn’t seem crash-proof, still have to try turning only the 60fps patch off.

I’m just only at Grimsby and forgot to test the other day.
Issues caused by patches or resolution scaling are not really issues as resolution scaling is a hack and game patches are mods.
The logs I’ve looked at are not using RSX buffers. So it’s not caused by accuracy settings like how my comment on the other issue was.
I’ll try to test soon and I’ll try to get a debug log output of the error if I am able. In order to make a debug log I need to learn of a consistent way to reproduce the issue. Like a specific trigger every time. It being random makes the test extremely difficult and I’m not That big a fan of this game.

Vulkan device lost error

I am using an Asus G733 with AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 16GB GDDR6, 1545MHz boost clock, 130W TGP

Without RTX enabled, this game works. I can play.
With RTX enabled, it crashes.

The game loads, but as soon as I enable RTX and run the benchmark, it crashes after 3

4 sec with the error: There was an error while initializing the graphics driver. Vulkan device lost (GPU stalled/hung/crashed). The game will exit when you click OK.

Without RTX enabled, it works. I can play. With RTX, crash.

Starts but will not run — VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST

The game starts, I can set the options (trying to work through the tutorial in the manual), the game starts and I can see the orcs in the world, but it crashes shortly afterward and shows the following error.

So far I have:
— reduced the image quality settings to low — no change, but the task manager reported that the GPU uses less memory
— reduced the screen resolution to the lowest setting 1280 x 768 from memory — no change
— tried it windowed — no change.
— Ran it as Administrator — no change.
— installed the latest upgrade for Gladius (Dec 15 one .04)
— Forced the laptop to only use the NVIDA card, then reversed this after the upgrade as the new version seems to handle this better.. (less useless stuff using the better GPU)
— Tried it with every background app (except the NVida stuff) turned off — no change.

The problem is still there, but I can now move the troopies in one turn before it crashes..

What I notice when using task manager for the GPU is that the 3D graph rises to 100% and stays there for a few seconds before the whole thing crashes..

I don’t use Steam.

In short, instead of playing the game, I have spent the past 11 days trying to get it past turn 1. The only thing left is to try an external monitor..

This is the only game that won’t run on the Alienware.. Pretty disappointing.. As someone else reported, it does work on the original 1.2 release, but none of the other DLC etc will run on this release.

I am also having this problem. Started an Imperial Guard campaign and it crashes on turn one when I select my Techpriest and allow the unit icon to rotate for 10 seconds. If I settle immediately, I can get past it, but then something else inevitably triggers the crash.

Here’s the key part of the error report:

Renderer.cpp:869: void __cdecl proxy::video::Renderer::submitCommands(void): Failed to submit to queue. -4 VK_ERROR_DEVICE_LOST.

    Cannot render anymore. Everything worked fine until this morning. My system:

    Windows 10 Pro (21H2)

    AMD Ryzen 9 5950x

    32GB of DDR4-3600 CL16-19-19-39 from Trident Z Neo

    AMD 6800XT

    1TB WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe™ SSD

    I’ve tried this with smart access memory disabled (as it always was) and enabled.

    All windows, cpu and gpu updates are installed. I have Sketchup Pro 2021 and most recent version of Endscape. I’ve even tried with an older version of Endscape since that has gotten me out of a jam before but now nothing renders.

    I have clients waiting on renders and this is unacceptable. I’m seriously thinking of going with another renderer at this point. So many problems with this.

    PCastro , I am very sorry to hear about that — We have also already received your Feedback Report and are looking into it. You will receive a dedicated response/solution through the created case/report of yours as soon as possible.

    Meanwhile, does it make a difference if you (temporarily) reduce the project in complexity, and/or are you successful with running smaller scenes? Is there anything else you can think of that might have changed before Enscape became unusable?

    In any case, we’re able to give you a definite answer through the report as mentioned too so please stay tuned for that.

    Please make sure you also have a dedicated GPU built into your system, which meets our system requirements.

    This issue is related with Vulkan plugin (Vulkan is beta released for NVIDIA Graphics), usual this error show up with big projects, after I installed the Enscape 3.1 and Sketchup 2021 the error no longer was showed, it might work with Enscape 3.2, but not quite sure because I haven’t tested yet

    Try to wait the 3.5 Enscape came or Vulkan Runtime 1.4 (LunarXchange (lunarg.com ) to see the error have been fixed, I tried the 3.3 Enscape and still had the same issue.

    I was having this same issue after installing v.3.4.1. Using the plugin for Sketchup 2022 with NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 card.

    Admittedly, it was crashing on a pretty large model.

    Once I reverted back to version 3.3.2 I’m no longer having any trouble rendering my stills. Like Eliveton_SS, i’ll wait for the next version comes out to update

    Last week I tried the 3.3.1 Enscape and Sketchup 2022 and works fine either, just make sure there are no leftovers in %APPDATA%Enscape , %LOCALAPPDATA%Enscape or in the plugin’s folder before installing another Enscape version

    For who is using the Enscape 3.4 try the new version of Vulkan, just drop today, maybe it can help https://sdk.lunarg.com/sdk/dow…T-1.3.224.1-Installer.exe

    The smart people of Enscape looked in to my feedback report and recognized this bug. Apparently it will be fixed in the next update. By using your tip (to copy my project and make it a lot lighter (from 196.000 mb to 134.000) by removing a lot of components, I could at least make some stills. For now I’m good with this work around. I’ll try waiting for the update, since I’m not overly file-clearing-savvy… ;) But thanks so much for your insights!

    Update: The smaller file eventually, was not workable so I followed the Enscape instructions on how the deinstall and reinstall a preview Enscape version they send me after I send in an file report from within Enscape. (including the removal of the %appdata% etc, I did it all) and now it works great again. And I’m proud of myself since I’m a lot more computer savvy then I thought! :saint:
